Arwen's meanderings

Hi everyone and welcome to my dinghy cruising blog about my John Welsford designed 'navigator' named Arwen. Built over three years, Arwen was launched in August 2007. She is a standing lug yawl 14' 6" in length. This blog records our dinghy cruising voyages together around the coastal waters of SW England.
Arwen has an associated YouTube channel so visit www.YouTube.com/c/plymouthwelshboy to find our most recent cruises and click subscribe.
On this blog you will find posts about dinghy cruising locations, accounts of our voyages, maintenance tips and 'How to's' ranging from rigging standing lug sails and building galley boxes to using 'anchor buddies' and creating 'pilotage notes'. I hope you find something that inspires you to get out on the water in your boat. Drop us a comment and happy sailing.

Hi Steve,

Nice movie! I like the quotes, making me want to go sailing right now! It is great to have a boat and be able to take her anywhere... ;)

Yo Rik
How you doing?
Thanks. I edit the movies on GoPro cinestudio - nothing special and limited in what it does but intuitive to use. I wish I had a better understanding of film editing but there we go.
the quotes make it slightly different; never used those before. I am trying to get across the concept of 'mini adventures' - we all need them. Steve and Spartina do this really well I always think.
The quotes come from something called 'pininterest' a social media site.

How far off launching is your pathfinder?

Steve,
Rigging and small stuff... lots of it! We have a regatta coming up this weekend and I will try to have her there with masts and possibly the standing rigging. Then maybe even the sails... We will see. Check out the blog for updates.
