Arwen's meanderings

Hi everyone and welcome to my dinghy cruising blog about my John Welsford designed 'navigator' named Arwen. Built over three years, Arwen was launched in August 2007. She is a standing lug yawl 14' 6" in length. This blog records our dinghy cruising voyages together around the coastal waters of SW England.
Arwen has an associated YouTube channel so visit www.YouTube.com/c/plymouthwelshboy to find our most recent cruises and click subscribe.
On this blog you will find posts about dinghy cruising locations, accounts of our voyages, maintenance tips and 'How to's' ranging from rigging standing lug sails and building galley boxes to using 'anchor buddies' and creating 'pilotage notes'. I hope you find something that inspires you to get out on the water in your boat. Drop us a comment and happy sailing.

Give me sunshine.......

In sunny Barcelona.
Ola!
Her indoors has taken me for a few days to sunny Barcelona. We arrived earlier and she allowed me to head to the beach immediately. Nice to see the med again.
Strolled along the seafront; had a crepe caramel......yummy. Went and saw a giant copper fish......photos will follow.  Saw that the team had bought my yacht down from
Plymouth with its helicopter (I jest of of course!).
Wandered through streets with wonderful old architecture and reached the conclusion that Barcelona may just rival Rome for our life long affections. And that's saying something given how we both feel about Rome. Wow!
Went out to a lovely tapas restaurant. I'm full and the missus is still starving. Exquisite cuisine though.
Now planning tomorrows itinerary. Really chill'in. Can feel the stress evaporating.....but then I am married to the most gorgeous and intelligent woman on the planet......so throw in laid back Spanish and snazzy Barcelona.....perfect!
