Arwen's meanderings

Hi everyone and welcome to my dinghy cruising blog about my John Welsford designed 'navigator' named Arwen. Built over three years, Arwen was launched in August 2007. She is a standing lug yawl 14' 6" in length. This blog records our dinghy cruising voyages together around the coastal waters of SW England.
Arwen has an associated YouTube channel so visit www.YouTube.com/c/plymouthwelshboy to find our most recent cruises and click subscribe.
On this blog you will find posts about dinghy cruising locations, accounts of our voyages, maintenance tips and 'How to's' ranging from rigging standing lug sails and building galley boxes to using 'anchor buddies' and creating 'pilotage notes'. I hope you find something that inspires you to get out on the water in your boat. Drop us a comment and happy sailing.

Life lines

I've discussed life lines before. Now here is one which is simple and effective I think! I may add this to the winter list of things to do!

Steve,
Thanks for another great year of entertaining and informative posts. My Navigator build is all but complete, just waiting on the sails now so all set for a spring launch. Just putting her to bed for the winter while I fiddle with rigging in the shed. The kids have named her but it's all hush until the official wetting of the hull. Hope to see you in the sound when the season starts.

I look forward to sailing with you at some stage in the sound or down at fowey. Let me know when you want to go for a sail. Two navigators together will make an impressive show in the sound. Contact me via the blog and when you have launched her , I would be honoured to announce her arrival here if you don't have a blog of your own. Another navigator just down the road........awesome, truly awesome.
