Hi everyone and welcome to my dinghy cruising blog about my John Welsford designed 'navigator' named Arwen. Built over three years, Arwen was launched in August 2007. She is a standing lug yawl 14' 6" in length. This blog records our dinghy cruising voyages together around the coastal waters of SW England between 2009 and 2025.

It started with a walk and finished with.........

It started with an early morning walk up to one of my favourite tors

where I had the place to myself on a wonderful crisp October morning

with the far off views to the stunning Plymouth Sound 

Then it was back to do some more to the galley box


The day finished with a trip to our old atmospheric Reel cinema and movie night with her-indoors
A perfect day!
