Arwen's meanderings

Hi everyone and welcome to my dinghy cruising blog about my John Welsford designed 'navigator' named Arwen. Built over three years, Arwen was launched in August 2007. She is a standing lug yawl 14' 6" in length. This blog records our dinghy cruising voyages together around the coastal waters of SW England.
Arwen has an associated YouTube channel so visit www.YouTube.com/c/plymouthwelshboy to find our most recent cruises and click subscribe.
On this blog you will find posts about dinghy cruising locations, accounts of our voyages, maintenance tips and 'How to's' ranging from rigging standing lug sails and building galley boxes to using 'anchor buddies' and creating 'pilotage notes'. I hope you find something that inspires you to get out on the water in your boat. Drop us a comment and happy sailing.

There is a whisper.................

just a mere rumour, whispered by word of mouth..........but.......wait for it................our weather may be changing for the better! We may get sunshine and little rain for the weekend. Whats more......the Met Office are suggesting that the jet stream is shifting northwards and we should be returning to normal July weather in the last week of the month!

here are the windguru forecasts for the next few days
Winds are looking light but the main thing is NO RAIN!

Oh my!
I think I've forgotten how to sail Arwen!
And I finish school tomorrow for the holiday........I don't want to build up my hopes but maybe, just maybe....I may be sailing Friday or Saturday

Right I need to finish school tomorrow and spend the evening planing what I'm going to do. I need to see if it is worth getting Dad down as well!

Oh yes.....things are definitely beginning to look up!

Steve
