Tohatsu UK.....very nice people

So here I was, out in the garden, seeking divine inspiration, trying to write a couple of articles when a knock at the door announced the arrival of my pressie from Tohatsu UK.

Rapidly unwrapped and voila - one completely new lower gear unit to replace my old one. Free of charge. Those few souls out there who follow my blog will know the travails I have had with replacing the lower gear lube due to a blocked gear lube hole - which was blocked because of a misaligned bearing. Previous posts have all the details.

After contacting Tohatsu, who expressed genuine surprise that neither the dealer who sold it to me, nor the service engineers completing my annual services had actually picked up on the problem, felt that I deserved a new unit, even though my outboard is several years outside of its warranty.

Top class customer service from start to finish on everything, from helping to identify the problem, to securing and dispatching a new unit and arranging for me to take the old one to a local dealer I didn't know about after lock down is lifted. 

So rare these days to get truly exceptional customer service. Well done Tohatsu UK - outstanding and very, very much appreciated.
