I just want to say well done Team GB. What an awesome few days. Our team have been heroes whether they have gained medals or not; some genuinely amazing performances done with grace, humility, determination and honour. Some amazing personal bests. It is such a privilege to be able to watch the world's very best sportsmen and women compete at this level.
Who'd have thought it...medals in K2 canoeing; swimming; open trap shooting; judo; rowing; cycling; equestrian; gymnastics....oh my!
Well done Team GB...and thank you!
And finally well done Michael Phelps. An astonishing performance and what a gentleman and true sportsman. If ever there was a role model for young people in sport to follow, then they do no better than look to Michael Phelps....................and perhaps Gemma Gibbons, Lizzie Armitage, Helen Glover, Chris Hoy and Bradley Wiggins.
In two days we have gone from 20th to 5th in the medal tables. Amazing.
