I am, as we say in the education profession, a late starter or a slightly slower paced learner. In both cases my experience is that such learners always catch up their peers at some stage; and frequently they have insights and contributions that offer much for discussion and reflection. I have a long way to go to become skilled nd knowledgeable sailor but I am slowly getting there.
