I plan on being very active, out and about and volunteering in the community in some capacity. I want to give back in some small way. never been able to do it whilst full time so some catching up to do.

in the meantime, feeling guilty being at home whilst my exam groups are two weeks away from first exams.....not exactly what I had planned for them, bless em.

hey ho - that is the way it goes I guess. thanks for dropping the comment - cheered me up no end - much appreciated chrisstevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06932550661580632605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6263863416874538973.post-86789864798873509992017-05-08T23:25:51.866+01:002017-05-08T23:25:51.866+01:00What you are thinking about and writing about is ...What you are thinking about and writing about is completely familiar in our house. I was a pastor, my wife was a special education lead teacher, we were both over committed to work to community to family… Never enough hours in the day. I "backed into retirement" about a year ago now. My wife's retirement was official or we could go tomorrow.

Now there's time to be reading for reading's own sake, for naps at any time of day, for drinking a cup of coffee gazing out the window, listening to the birds.

I don't think we lost the things that interested us when we were children, I think they've been there all along, they just got buried under the details of 1000 other things during our so-called productive years. Now, as our days become maybe a bit quieter, those old interests resurface.

Life is good. I need so much help learning to sail better and would enjoy the company but currently am laid up in bed with a flu virus; just had leak and floor ripped up in bathroom and next weekend in-laws are all down En-masse.
it is proving to be a trying week. And we are OFSTED imminent this week or next. On the bright side I retire in August and then I have plenty of time. Have a lovely weekend next weekend.
